I was looking through an old cabinet in the studio, finding sketch books my father used 50 years ago. I came across a small ball point pen sketch of a sailboat at anchor- immediately I felt urged to paint the boat. Rather than "an urge" I truly mean "urged". We'll never know if this boat was moored at Sorrento or Hancock Point, what was its name or who was its owner...
