Dressed warmly, I ventured into the path leading North from my kitchen door. The huge white pine provides such dark luscious contrast with the small evergreens bending under the weight of snow. This painting flowed more easily than my foray into winter a few days before.
Brilliant Blue mixed with some Davy's Grey, and a touch of Sap Green, gave me a shadow back ground to the bending limbs.
I don't paint in any order- no darks first, and so forth- So the blue/grey came in after I had weighted down the branches.
