The colors of fall peak during about 10 days in October, usually mid October here on the Eastern Coast of Maine. The edge of the old fence line the pasture grows up with hardwoods and spruce- this maple shown a deep red. It wasn't a far walk from the studio. Underfoot was uneven, cranberries growing in the wet hollows between higher spots of blueberry, adding to the challenges and humor of painting outside.
