In late summer a dear friend and I climbed Schoodic Head (also known as Schoodic Nubble), a terrific short but excellent hike in the Schoodic portion of Acadia National Park. This view was to the South West, the sun behind high clouds still bright on the water, and the land toward Schoodic Point blue/purple in the distance. I did This painting in the studio shortly after, trying to capture the soaring feeling of end of summer, of wind and hawk.
