A nearby cove of the West shore bay on Hancock Point Road has the most terrific ice and water through the cold months; the tide comes in and out, the sky changes, the seaweed at the edge of snow, the grasses at the feet of the poplars, the tall white pines marching out toward the bay. The access is down a short but steep snow covered wide path, and the easel is set up on a small slice of uneven ground just beside the tall wooden boat house.
