Painted possibly in the late 1990s, This plein air work reminds me of the heavy LL Bean back basket of supplies, the rushing of the stream the only sound in the quiet of the snowy woods. Fresh snow falls down my neck from branches, a few chickadees welcome me .
The lavendar of the birches means spring will eventually arrive.
